Converting from eTEACH 3.0 to 4.0 - Quick Start Guide
If you prefer a multimedia version of this guide, a video can be found here.
If you are an older user who has been using eteach since before its current incarnation, at some point you may need to convert your older (3.0 and before) eteach projects to a format compatible with the newer version of eteach (4.0). This is a relatively easy process to complete; all you need to do is follow these simple steps:
1st, navigate to the old eteach site by following the link on the now updated page (or clicking here).

Next, login and navigate to your desired presentation and select the “update” icon to the right of your presentation (the update icon looks like this
)

You will now be taken to a screen that asks you to “save changes” on your eteach project. Though this may seem counter-intuitive, you must click “save changes” before making any changes on your project.

Once you have clicked “save changes” you will be brought to a page where you would previously launch the eteach editor and begin editing your project.
Instead of clicking on “Launch eTeach Author” and click on the link below the "upload" button entitled “Export the content package for this presentation”.

This will then download your eTeach 3.0 project as a .zip file called “eteach_3_0_content.zip” to your downloads folder (or desktop).

*A NOTE FOR SAFARI USERS: Safari will automatically unzip your eteach content rendering the files unrecognizable by eteach 4.0. You can change this in safari's settings by navigating to file>prefrences>general and unchecking the "Open 'safe' downloads" checkbox.
After downloading your content as a .zip file, make sure that you have the latest version of eteach (click here to see the latest version).
Next open up eteach and at the top menu select file>import>eTEACH Content and navigate to your .zip file and choose open.

Your eTEACH project will now be displayed.

Next choose file>save as… and save your eTEACH project in your preferred location.

Congratulations! You have just successfully converted your eTEACH 3.0 project to 4.0. You can now begin editing and working on your project in the latest version of eTEACH. Make sure to back up the .zip file incase you need to revert to the older setting, and only work from the project folder created by the newer version of eTEACH.
